Our floor sanding service covers surface preparation, progressive sanding, agreed repairs and the selected coating system. We work with hardwood and softwood floors and assess engineered timber before recommending any sanding.

Floor polishing and maintenance

Some floors with surface wear can be maintained without a full sand. We inspect the existing coating and timber before recommending a floor polishing or recoat.

Timber floor repairs

Damaged boards, gaps, cupping, pet damage and water damage all need to be judged individually. Suitable timber floor repairs are listed in the quote so the scope is clear before work begins.

Deck restoration

For outdoor timber, our deck restoration service includes preparation, sanding, suitable repairs and refinishing. The Blitz wire-brush machine can work around raised deck fixings that are difficult for conventional sanding equipment.

What happens before the work starts

The quote begins with the floor itself: area, timber condition, coating, repairs and access. We then discuss finish options and the practical timing for sanding, coating, light foot traffic, furniture and rugs.

No sanding process is completely dust-free. Our equipment uses extraction at the source to reduce airborne dust, and we explain how the rooms should be cleared and prepared.

How is the price calculated?

The quote reflects floor area and condition, repairs, access and the coating system. We provide a written quote after assessment rather than relying on a sight-unseen square-metre range.

How long does a standard floor take?

A standard floor generally takes 2 to 3 days, but the exact programme depends on the repairs and coating. We confirm the schedule and drying requirements before the job begins.

Can old Queenslander floors be restored?

Often, but age alone does not determine the answer. We check board thickness, movement, damage and earlier repairs before recommending sanding and refinishing.

Can engineered timber be sanded?

Some engineered products can be sanded if the usable timber layer is thick enough. Inspection is essential before any work is recommended.
